This story comes from
Jesse & Bonnie Beckman, friends of animals, not volunteers:
On July 20, 2006 my wife went out on the front porch, A few moments
later she
came in and insisted I check out a crazy noise coming from the well
house. By the time I got dressed and got out there our neighbor across the
street was arriving with a flashlight. Lo & behold there on the corner of
the well house was a raccoon with a spaghetti can stuck on it's head. My
wife, Bonnie brought out my camera and I took a couple of shots of the
poor
animal because I did not think anyone would believe that this could
happen.
I was a little scared to try and get the can off of the little one's head.
At this point I called the St. Johns Sheriff's Office, and was referred
to
Fire and Rescue. Fire and Rescue referred me to St. Johns Wildlife Care on
County Road 208. It being late in the evening and getting close to my bed
time I was getting worried that the little guy might not make it through
the
night, so I took the chance that even though it was getting late that I
would try to call St. Johns Wildlife and hoped that someone would answer
the telephone.

A very nice lady by the
name of Karen Inman answered and I explained my situation! Karen
convinced me to try and get the can off of the little guy's head. I
told her I would call back either way. I grabbed a towel and with it
held the poor thing behind the head and with three very straining
twist and pulls the little guy was free. I am sorry I did not get any
pictures without the can, but he was too fast and did not stick around
and pose for the camera again. Karen I just wanted to thank you for
all of your help and to let you know that it was an experience I
will not soon forget.
